EXPLANATORY NOTES ON THE OCP
BUDGET PROPOSAL FOR FY 2019
A. Current FY (2018) Appropriation:
The Office of the City Prosecutor (OCP) is a component of the National Prosecution Service (NPS), an attached agency of the Department of Justice. The primary function of the prosecution office is “to Investigate and/or cause to be investigated all charges of crimes, misdemeanors and violations of all penal laws and ordinances within their respective jurisdictions (Sec. 11(b), PD 1275, now Sec. 9(b), RA 10071) and the prosecutor shall “be the law officer of the province or city, as the case may be (Sec. 11(a), nos Sec. 9(a), RA 10071).
Presently, the OCP of Malaybalay City is complemented by a City Prosecutor, two (2) Assistant City Prosecutors, two (2) organic administrative clerks, and five (5) locally-paid support staff personnel on job-order basis.
